SATURDAYS

There’s something special about simple Saturdays — no plans, no rush, just the kind of day that unfolds naturally. This weekend, we started with a haircut in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, a quiet little town that always feels like home. After that, curiosity led us to a new café tucked along the main street — the smell of fresh coffee and the hum of conversation filling the air.

Later in the day, we drove to Smoke Meat Pete, where we met a “princess” — a lighthearted moment that made the stop even more memorable. A few laughs, a few photos, and a perfect reminder that photography isn’t always about composition or light — sometimes it’s just about the people you meet along the way.

The evening softened into golden tones as we grabbed ice cream at Dairy Queen, that simple taste of summer that never gets old. And to close the night, a Montreal classic: the glowing dome of Orange Julep, standing like a bright memory against the city lights.

All of these scenes were captured with my Fujifilm X20 and X100VI — two cameras that continue to surprise me with how they see light, color, and life. I love how the Fujifilm colors turn ordinary moments into stories, each frame feeling like a page in my personal diary.

Photography for me has always been about collecting pieces of time — the quiet ones, the warm ones, the unexpected ones. This Saturday reminded me again why I keep carrying my camera everywhere: because life, in its simplest form, is worth remembering.
